Shared Hosting Account no longer a prerequisite for a VPS

Gigarank has changed its protocol for ownership of a shared hosting account as a prerequisite for a free VPS. The ownership of a free hosting account is now optional. Members need to make 10 QUALITY posts to apply for a free shared hosting account and 25 QUALITY posts for a VPS. The 25 QUALITY posts are inclusive of the 10 QUALITY posts that are needed for the free shared hosting account, in other words VPS owners can also apply for a free shared hosting account if they choose to do so, and the 10 QUALITY post requirement can be included in the 25 QUALITY post requirement for a VPS.

Please note that the emphasis on the 25 QUALITY posts is on QUALITY. We urge our members to read our Guidelines for Quality Posts BEFORE you post for a hosting account as the quality rule is strictly enforced. Posts that are made in quick succession of one another in a marathon attempt to get a "quick" VPS will be considered as spam and lead to a permanent ban of the forum account and/or posts deleted from the Forum. Short one-liner posts that don't make a contribution to the discussion of a thread aren't considered quality posts; too many of those will also be considered as spam and/or deleted from the forum. Copy paste posts or threads of the inquiry or question type that are made in order to bump the number of posts also don't count as quality posts.

PLEASE read our Guidelines for Quality Posts BEFORE you post for a hosting account. Content is pasted below for easy reference:

Also please read all of the documentation in the VPS Section, especially the TOS BEFORE you ask any questions. Threads that are meaningless and obviously answered in the TOS will be deleted from the Forum. Especially note that Gigarank doesn't allow Games Servers. The focus for the VPS is mostly for hosting websites.

Please note our VPS hosting is Linux based and self-managed only. Gigarank doesn't provide administrative support for the VPSs other than the technical installation and setup. Some basic knowledge of Linux is needed in order to operate the VPS.
