Really sorry to hear what happened to Ecuador. One of my very favourite places I stayed at during a trip there in 2012 was Manta on the West Coast near the epi centre of the quake. The area is so much dependent on tourism for jobs and income. Probably one of the worst things that could have happened to the region. I initially was going to stay in Bahía de Caráquez in 2012, then moved on to Manta and completely fell in love with the place. Had been thinking about going back there for a while at the end of my contract this year, but I guess that won't happen for a while.
