The two main ways of storing uncompressed data on a computer. Clearly the SSD is better in almost every way it is faster, has no moving parts, silent and more reliable. But the SSD is still expensive compared to the HDD. That is the only real reason that puts me off from buying an SSD is the price. HDD still are fairly fast and reliable you would need to hit it quite hard to damage it. I was able to get a second hand 300GB HDD for £8 and it works perfectly fine.
