Can You guide a newbie?

Well, hello my friends!
I would like some kickstart tips you all are white-haired from teaching, we all were new to something once right?
So besides that, I want to know the following:

How can I use muti-provider hosting?
MySQL databases are already within another host
and the web-hosting (PHP, archives, Etc..) are even somewhere else
Should I transfer it here, or is it fine as it is?
Will this accept an FTP, HTTP and/or P2P connection?
