So tonight when my favourite dot.tk domain was no longer available and dot.tk wanted me to pay to register it, I first used domainsbot.com, to check if I could get something close, and was completely bowled over when a dot.net was available.
So when you click on the name in domainsbot.com, it comes up with best prices. Right on top was 1&1, which I recalled got a really bad writeup in this forum. I clicked on it nonetheless as it said it was available for 99c, and then of course when I reached 1&1, there was nothing in that price range. Then tried domain.com that started at 3.99, which looked cheap, but then their private registration lopped on a further 8 USD, making it 12 USD. I contined anyway, and then finally when I tried to purchase it from domain.com, domain.com declined it for further verfication requesting me to:
Yeah right!![Dodgy Dodgy]()
So I then navigated to Namecheap.com, and was able to get the dot.net domain for the exact same price inclusive of private registration. Rest turned into a positive story.
Needless to say domain.com got my boot and thumbs down.
