This is ok405tech writing you from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The weather is way too hot! I am planning to use gigarocket as a website host for a business venture. The idea is to offer technology solutions to both businesses and to home computer owners. I haven't decided yet what content management system I want to use or if I would rather use a blog like Wordpress. Drupal is always good, but tedious. Wordpress is meant to be a blog and not a website, but there are templates out there that get the job done plus it's really easy to configure. Joomla! is highly configurable but looks a little antiquated these days. Initially I expect it only be an informational website but once our client base gets large enough I have plans to implement a support queuing system and an automated remote desktop system for clients that pay for ongoing support. Thoughts?
There is a lot of work to be done! Logo design, advertising media, verbiage and page contents, domain name configuration all come to mind. I'm starting from scratch. I have a feeling that many of the people here have the skills I might be looking for later on down the line. I'm looking forward to gaining access to the rest of the subforums.
