The silly things I follow
So by clicking this link you will see some news that almost makes it in South Africa.
I do have issues with this, especially what was published in a national news paper....456!!!!, please go read if you like, but I think these two have now crossed the line, in public media, claim that if the drug is not made legal people would face loosing thier childern.
And yes I do smoke, But there is a line, children do not need to be subjected to the idea of drugs, to some of us we may think that thier minds are able to deal with this, but do these two not grasp the idea that in a country where a 13 year old can deciede to leave the care of thier parents house, and the parents can do nothing to stop the child, would end up down a very dark road.
maybe i am reading the article wrong, or i am to stoned to know otherwise, but i am sure half way down they in a way state that it is OK for children to consume drugs. Do they not think or realise that already the primary schools in South Africa are faced with drug search from the local police on a regular basis, with a success of 10 to 30 pupils found with sustances per vist, and again 456 think before you put things in the public media like that, they claimed to be educated.
And yes I am South African, and yes as mentioned I do Smoke, However i have no criminal history for drugs, reality, the other side of the coin....These two like I or Users not dealers, no the police are not been brutal or were been abusive, you failed to follow what the firstly kind police man or woman was asking you to do, now putting him or her into the hostile position as trained to do,if you complied to his or her requests, your saga would have been over with a short visit to the police station for you to be booked and charged, and as per law, you are entited as a property owner or as a fulltime employed person too be let out of jail to return home to be put under what would be known as house arrest, that is if the charges are not one the assault kind, till the court hearing. here is the funny part, we are cunsummers, all that happens is we get sent to NA meetings for 4 weeks, do a drug test, fail and still get to go free, it takes 6 to 8 weeks to work out of your system. no criminal record, it is loooked at as drunk in public charge.Actual personal experiances
But to blow it out of proportion like this, when lets us face it, we are in Africa, point one, point two, all you white boys and girls in africa, please go for a visit to a black village or town, if you need a tour guide feel free to ask me, I charge by the hour and cosume beers by the hours and please feel free to visit any tarvarn or social and par take in drinking some beer, and yes it comes from the same brewery as the ones you buy from you local, meet some new friends who some may be having a J outside the tavarn or social as the police drive past.
A final point, it is mostly the white poeple in South Africa who have issues with the tree not the majority of the african nation.
I also have a friend who is on first name basis with the judge already for his many visits for the same thing, in the same district as these two, and he also has no criminal chrages.
Sometimes it is just easier to follow the law.
Sorry I may be ranting, but I did support the drive these two were on, but to go done to this level, they have lost my support, and I am sorry for saying this the law should follow though on this now and put and end to it.
As in SA law there is no excuse for ignorance, and everyone will be charged fairly to what the law sates, if you are going to get involved with something at least know what the laws are so you are always covered from all angles, and if required you have a quick escape plan.
